LIBRARY
for inquiries: library@cts.lk

The CTS Library has a collection of approximately 20,000 volumes, not including journals and magazines. In order for you and others to make the most of this valuable resource, there are some simple rules that we all need to observe.

How to become a Library Member
To use the Library you need to be a Library member. Forms are available with the Librarian on duty. Registered programme students of CTS, do not have to pay any library membership fee.

Members are issued with a membership card which carries their membership number.

All books are entered in the computerized catalogue which can help you to find books by author, or by title.

Certain categories of book are for use only within the library and may not be borrowed. These include (1) reference books, (2) course reference books, (3) periodicals, and (4) archival materials.

Course Reference books.
These are books which are set aside at the request of the lecturers which are recommended or required reading for a particular course. They are kept on the separate course reference rack for the duration of that course (normally one term) for the sake of ease of access to the entire class.

Periodicals.
This includes journals, magazines, and newspapers.

Archival materials.
Books marked with a letter A in red are either very old, rare, fragile, or of historical importance, and are kept in a separate cupboard which is generally locked, but which can be opened at the discretion of the librarian on duty.

Photocopying
There is a photocopier in the library which only certain authorized members of CTS staff may operate. If you require photocopies of pages from library books, it will be helpful if you will place your order giving as much time as possible. The rates charged are reasonable. Please note that certain books cannot be photocopied, for example if their binding is not strong.

Internet & Educational Resources Software

CTS is now fully equipped for Internet based research. The Student may also access up-to-date biblical and theological software. Printing facilities are also available at our Library.
